Prince George, B.C.-  Just hours after  announcing  funding  has been put in place for the North District Integrated Marijuana  Enforcement team comes news of a  bust made by the team and  mebers of the P.G.  RCMP detachment  earlier this week.

Police  say  members executed a Criminal Code search warrant regarding the theft of electricity occurring at a residence on Eldon Road, in Prince George on March 13th.

Police  did uncover a  small  marijuana grow op, but apparently had just missed the harvest .  All  that was left were some leaves and stems.

Evidence in relation to the theft of telecommunications (electricity) along with the marijuana grow equipment was seized.

A 77 year old male of Prince George was arrested and is facing a charge for Theft of Telecommunications (Electricity). He will be making his first court appearance on May 23, 2012.

" Members located a hydro bypass at this residence which was deemed a fire hazard" stated Cst. Lesley Smith North District Media Relations Officer. "Despite the plants already being harvested, investigators were able to forward charges against a male and dismantle yet another marijuana grow operation."

77 years old? Must be adding to his fixed income that the politicos keeping grabbing from him in the form of various hidden taxes.

Yeah, I’m sure the guy was a saint.

Electricity? Telecommunications? If we ever get capital punishment back I’m sure the bad guys will get sent to the “telecommunications” chair. I love political correctness AND the English language. Such a joke.

The Wiring I see, he should be dead by now, how can you wire thing that way, only a Idiot works like that and anyone stealing Hydro should never get it again, back to the Stoneage for you.

My question is how did the guy reach the age of 77 by being stupid enough to mess around like that and bypass the meter? Outsmarted the smart meter, eh? One day in jail and eighteen months probation. (No room in the jails. We need more.)

I think Harper and his crew are adding on a couple of rooms in one of the crow bar hotels. Oldun is quite right about seniors not having enough disposable income though. When 80% is taken from a pension in order to keep an elder in an accute care home. No wonder the government is encouraging working people to invest into a pension but that sure cuts deep into the pockets of our pioneers.

80% is taken from the elderly to discourage loitering in said acute care homes.. Same with the quality of hospital food. If it was yummy, no one would want to leave the hospital any time soon.

Recent MSNBC poll of 31,000 Americans says 75% now support legalizing marijuana. Apparently Pat Robertson the so called far right Evangelical is leading to call for legalization now.
