Two Face Possible Robbery Charges

Prince George, B.C. – Two men are in custody and may  be charged  with robbery in connection with a  theft early this morning on  Westwood drive in  Prince George.
 
RCMP say just after midnight, a lone 16 year old male was walking along Westwood Drive between Ferry Avenue and Massey Boulevard when he was confronted by two males walking towards him. The two suspects confronted the lone male, assaulted him and robbing him of his cell phone and wallet containing cash. The two males fled the area on foot. A good Samaritan witnessed the robbery and called police.
 
Officers attended the area within minutes and spotted two people who matched the description of the suspects, heading into the wooded area between Highway 97 and the Family YMCA on Massey Boulevard.
 
Police Service Dog Astro and his handler were called to assist. 
A short time later Astro located two individuals who continued to flee despite warnings from police. Both suspects suffered minor bite wounds and were taken into custody without further incident.
 
A 20 year old man from Prince George and a 21 year old man from Mackenzie remain in police custody. Investigators will be recommending charges of Robbery against both men.

Ha, ha, so that’s what was going on! I mentioned to some people that maybe they were feeding the dogs again! Way to go Astro!!

….theft early this morning.. This means to me that they were taken to the lock up, given lunch and might go see a judge today? If not today, probably Monday to be let out on their own recognizance with a promise to appear. Good eats and a warm bed this weekend. Enjoy the paperwork, constable.

Way to go Astro! Too bad we can’t give you a hero biscuit, you got one coming. Nice to see some members enjoy there work. Also nice to see that the general public has it’s eyes open and are not afraid to use the phone, thanks for that. Community when it works it’s great!
