Prince George, BC – With the second round of voting set to begin at the NDP Leadership Convention in Toronto, three of the seven candidates have dropped out.

Niki Ashton, Paul Dewar, and Martin Singh have dropped off the ballot.

Results from the first round of voting put Thomas Mulcair out in front with 30.2% (19,728) of the ballots cast his way, followed by Brian Topp at 21.3% (13,915), Nathan Cullen with 16.3% (10,671), Peggy Nash 12.8% (8353), Paul Dewar was next with 7.4% (4,883), Martin Sing at 5.8% (3,821), and Niki Ashton had 5.7% (3,737).

Interim Leader, Nycole Turmel, is speaking to delegates, as the second round begins.
