Must-Win For Cariboo Cougars Tonight

Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ 8:06 AM

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Cariboo Cougars fell 4-1 to the Vancouver NW Giants in game one of the best-of-three BCMML championship series.

The Cougars scored the first goal of the game midway through the first, when Nathan Craft put a rebound past Braden Krogfross.  The Giants tied it up midway through the second, before scoring three goals in a little more than 90-seconds in the third to capture victory.

Game two goes tonight at the Burnaby Winter Club.  Defenceman Stephen Penner will fly to Vancouver this morning to join the Cougars for the rest of the series, after both Colton Manning and Chase Astorino were thrown out of last night’s game and not allowed to play tonight.  Manning was ejected after the Giants’ third goal for apparently hitting an official, while Astorino was thrown out for a check from behind.

This evening’s game begins at 7:45pm and will be available live at www.cariboocougars.ca
