Two Trucks Stolen, But Recovered

Prince George, B.C.- Two semi trucks, one with a trailer attached were stolen and recovered from the Prince George area in the last two days.

On Sunday, March 25th, at 10:55 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a stolen 2001 Freightliner semi truck. It appears  the Semi was stolen from the 1900 block of 1st avenue in Prince George between midnight and 10:55 AM. The truck was recovered in the area of Shelley Road S and Highway 16. The truck appeared to have been key driven although all keys are accounted for. Stolen from the inside of the truck was a two way radio and stereo face plate. No apparent damage was done to the vehicle.
 
Then, this morning,  at 10:03 the Prince George RCMP received a report of a stolen 2000 Freightliner Semi Truck and trailer from a business on the 1000 block of Great Street in Prince George. It appears that the Semi truck and Trailer were taken from the business yard sometime between March 25, at around 10:15 PM and March 26, 5:30 AM. The trailer contained 53,000 pounds of herring. Both the Semi truck and trailer (including the herring) were recovered in the area of Old Cariboo Highway and Marston Road in the Prince George area un-damaged with the refrigerator still running.
RCMP are advising semi truck owners to ensure that their machines and/or trailers are secured and disabled. Thieves scout targets and come prepared with the proper tools.

Well, you can probably discount a Newfy thief for the herring truck, wouldn’t even have found a backbone let alone a fin…..

Oh great, now they are going to be going after everyone with a Class 1 to get a DNA sample from them!

I hope I don’t have herring in my DNA…
