Prince George, B.C.- The Canadian Cancer Society flag is now flying over Prince George City Hall, heralding the start of Daffodil month.
Available by donation, the pin is a symbol of support for those who are making their way through their own cancer journey. “When someone who is going through the cancer journey sees you wearing this pin, they don’t feel so alone” says Lorraine Grant, Chair of the Board for the Canadian Cancer Society B.C. Yukon division.
The daffodil pin project started as a pilot project in B.C. three years ago and is now a national program, and is on the verge of going international.
Since the program started, residents have donated about $18 thousand annually through donations to buy the pin.
All funds raised go towards Cancer research and support for those with cancer.
