Prince George –   RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson announced today that Superintendent Rod Booth has been appointed to the position of North District Commander and will be promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent.

Rod Booth’s appointment as Officer in Charge, Chief Superintendent of North District is very positive news for our entire region, says Minister of Justice and Attorney General Shirley Bond. Rod has spent many years of his policing career in British Columbia and is highly regarded in the RCMP and beyond. I am confident that Rod will demonstrate the kind of leadership that will enhance the safety of our Northern Communities.

Superintendent Booth, a 30 year member of the RCMP, brings a unique knowledge of leadership in the municipal, provincial, and federal areas of policing. As the North District Commander, Supt Booth is responsible for over 1,100 employees in an area that encompasses 73% of the province and is home to 37 Detachments and support units.

Congradulations Mr. Booth and welcome to Prince George. I believe when a person aquires a heigh position in an organization such as the RCMP or the RCMP that i knew and loved while growing up that person should be honored. That said I can’t say the same for the RCMP of today. The RCMP of today are in my opinion involved with wrong doing by which they are not held accountable. I also believe they are involved with dirty politics. Hopefully an impartial party will become involved with getting the RCMP back on the right track.

The RCMP management of today is ran by the dudes that you knew and loved when you while you were growing up, surefire.

Shirly Bond is incompetent. Signing an agreement she had no idea or control over the cost structures. I think Harper was happy to stick the knife in and twist it a bit on the BC liberal party.
