Quesnel Teen Dead, Drugs Appear To Be Factor
Quesnel, BC – A 15-year-old Quesnel boy has died and the preliminary investigation suggests that drugs may have been a factor in his death.
Quesnel RCMP Media Relations Officer, Constable Krista Vrolyk, says officers were called yesterday afternoon after the teenager was discovered unresponsive in a residence in the 400-block of Baker Drive.
Constable Vrolyk says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. She says, "(The) preliminary investigation conducted by Quesnel RCMP’s GIS Investigators and the Coroner suggests that drugs may have been a factor in this death. Foul play is not suspected. An autopsy will be conducted later this week to confirm the cause of death."
Vrolyk says that RCMP are working with the community to ensure that Victim Services are available to anyone in need of grief counselling support.
Meantime, the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the Quesnel Detachment at 250-992-9211.
