Prince George, B.C.- Prince George RCMP are saying little on their investigation into the discovery of human remains near 5th Avenue and Foothills Boulevard.
The remains were discovered yesterday afternoon by a family searching for their missing dog.
At this time, RCMP Media Liaison Corporal, Craig Douglass says "The Prince George RCMP understand that the discovery of human remains is of great interest to the community. Further details will be provided as they are confirmed by investigators."
Prince George RCMP Serious Crime Section with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section and General Duty Section are involved in the investigation.

I guess opinion250 doesn’t have any other news stories to report? This is the third or so “news” report of “nothing new to report” about this? Maybe save the space until something is actually reported?
cmdrjoe, I appreciate your comments, however, judging by the action on this story, and the number of phone calls and emails to our newsroom, an update to tell the general population the status of this story is appropriate, even if it is to say there is no new information.

To cmdrjoe ….. this is a news blog, not a newspaper.
In case you have not realized it yet, most, if not all newsmedia are interested in a number of things as I see it:
1. getting information to people as early as possible
2. getting in depth reports to those who are interested in digging deeper into events.
3. scooping other news media
Newsblogs, such as Opinion 250, are well placed to cover all three aspects. In fact, it ads a fourth option, for the interested public to comment on events and thus give it even more immediacy and relevance.
So, your point is well taken from your personal point of view. However, if this site should change its way of doing things to meet your view, it would be totally fettered to an almost newspaper style restriction.
I think internet based newsblogs have a closer association with the CNN approach on television. Even that, however, is restricted in some ways. This site has multiple access to the topics individuals are interested in. News channels do not. What you see is what you get.
I also saw that on the noon news today.
