Prince George, B.C. – A Prince George teen was to appear in court today to face charges of assaulting a police officer.
Shortly after midnight last night, a member of the Prince George detachment was patrolling the Redwood Street 20th Area in hopes of locating a missing male youth.
The officer spotted a group of young people, ( 2 females, 3 males) and stopped his vehicle to speak to the group to see if the youth he was looking for was among the group.
While speaking to the teens, one of the males pulled out a can of bear spray and sprayed the officer. The officer pursued the suspect, who sprayed the officer twice more.
The officer, suffering from the effects of bear spray in his face, called for assistance.
Several officers arrived on scene and Police Dog “Baron” picked up a track. Baron followed the track to the 2300 block of Redwood where a suspect was located. Police say the suspect refused to comply with police commands, and Baron moved in and bit the suspect.
The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of the bite and after being released from hospital was held in custody until his court appearance this afternoon.
The officer who was sprayed returned to duty after the effects of the spray wore off.

Hope the dog as had all it vaccanations lol
Me too, you never know what the poor dog might of bit into.
The officer should have just shot him. Oh wait, then all the bleeding hearts would say how bad the RCMP are. Does anyone think a waste of skin like this will ever be a valuable part of society? (By valuable I don’t mean the hundreds of thousands the system will waste on court costs and “rehabilitation”)
Perfect example of someone the officer shoulda shot!
Go Baron, go!
Kudo’s for baron did he have to lick his rear end to get the nasty taste out of his mouth after biteing the loser p.o.s.?
Did the “young offender” whip out his Care Card upon entering the emergency ward? No? That’s OK. Just put it on my tab.
Good one, Harb, totally realistic. Hopefully he’ll be calling someone “Boss” soon and for a long time, but, you know young fools like this and those judicial JP’s seem to like each other for some foolish reason, I don’t get it. But I just love German shepherds, so intelligent, so intuitive, don’tlike seeing them in harm’s way. Sure hope the dog is okay………
So justice by gun not court, real smart hope all your family members stay on the right side of the law.
I’m glad the officer did not shoot the punk, but there should be just punishment, let’s see, what would be the most painful to a waste of spce like that…………..
Got it, put him to work. Sentence him to a fixed, non reducable term for which he has to pay his way with labour. Won’t work? fine, bread & water, solitary confinement. Will work? reward. You get to eat and wear clothes. No need for t.v. you’re going to be working 12 hours, then you have 4 hours of mandatory schooling. Lucky for you there will be variety in yout life. Every two days you only have to work 6 hours. The other 6 hours you will spend in a care home learning to change diapers for the incapacitated, and most importantly, learning to respect other people.
metalman.
Obviously he should have been tasered into submission! What happened to the use of CEWs? Weren’t they to be the perfect solution for situations like this? A public caning with enough lashes might finally get this misfit troublemaker’s full attention!
Fair enough Seamutt but if one of my kids comes home and tells me they peppersprayed a cop then the courts and the judges would be the absolute least of his problems ;-)
Metalman and PrinceGeorge should both be nominated by the people to become judges! Seems they have a very firm grip on what really works. Nice to know there are still some sane thinking people out there!
Way to go Baron! Hope you suffer no ill effects.
Yes, education in ‘real life’ would go a long way in rehabilitating these people. Wonder why our legal system hasn’t come up with something like that?
Sorry, I forgot, they’re “educated”.
