Open House Sessions on Site C Start In Ft. St. John

Fort St. John, B.C.- This afternoon, the first of half a dozen open house sessions on the proposed Site C dam will get underway.
 
The session today is set for the North Peace Cultural Centre in Fort St. John and will start at 3 and go through to 8 tonight.
 
The sessions are being hosted by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the provincial Environmental Assessment Office. The sessions are being held during the period for public comment on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). During the open house sessions, members of the public can get information on the EIS guidelines, the environmental assessment process an how they can participate.
 
Representatives from BC Hydro, and both environmental assessment agencies will attend the session to answer questions about the process.
 
BC Hydro is proposing to build a dam and 1,100-megawatt hydroelectric generating station on the Peace River just upstream from Taylor.
