City Challenge to Benefit Animals

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 @ 3:57 AM
Prince George, B.C.- May is Be Kind to Animals Month in B.C., but the muzzles will be off as the North Cariboo Branch of the BC SPCA challenges Kamloops to see which community   is “top dog” when it comes to having animal supporters.

All this month, the two branches will be holding events throughout their respective communities in an effort to raise as much money as possible to fund programs for abused, neglected, homeless and injured animals.

Over the past year, the North Cariboo branch of the BC SPCA has cared for 2,217 homeless, injured and abused animals.

“I know how competitive Prince George is” says North Cariboo Branch manager Angela McLaren “and this is the time to show Kamloops just how dedicated this community is to those who cannot speak for themselves”.  She encourages everyone to take part in the community events set for this month.

The winner of the City Challenge gets not only bragging rights, but the satisfaction of knowing they have made a life –saving difference for animals in need.

May is be kind to animals month? Bear season opened on the 15th of April and runs until June 30th. I think we should challenge some other city on how many bears (or feral cats) we can exterminate in two months. Now that, I could get involved in!
