$140,000, what would the tax revenue be on that if the Government was selling it? There are way bigger ones out there, worth millions…….what a “CASH COW”. Enough already, legalize it and be done with it. Use the tax revenue to FIX THE ROADS, did you hear me, FIX THE ROADS!!
Fix the roads in Calgary? Isn’t that where you’re from?
Legalize Marijuana? That is a absurd idea that people never seem to think through, it would have insane consequences at all levels of society….people just see “Tax Dollars”, its not that simple! If we have to Tax Marijuana to fix our roads we have real problems. Heres an idea, next time an election rolls around do NOT vote for a person just because they have the flashiest campaign, it’s May and there isnt a truck ANYWHERE fixing the worst roads in ANY City in Canada at all? Whats up Shari? So much for your campaign promises!
Calgary roads are fine JohnnyBelt, smooth as glass compared to Prince George. And guess what? Calgary and area have one of the greatest freeze/thaws anywhere. Ever heard of “chinooks”?
Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam and so is prostitution. It doesn’t seem to be causing to many problems there, because they have control of it! Their drug trade is not being run by gangsters.
Wow, legal pot, legal prostitution, and good roads…life would be good! lol
That sort of talk used to be against casInos, they legalized gambling and created thousands of jobs and millions in revenues!! But if you’d rather see the gangs running that business…….
“Calgary roads are fine JohnnyBelt, smooth as glass compared to Prince George.”
I’m just trying to figure out why you care about roads in Prince George?
Because I lived there for 58 years Johnny. I paid taxes all my working life of those 58 years in Prince George. I have many great friends there. I may want to come and visit on my Harley in the summer. I pay income tax to the Federal Government which in turn is divided across the country including Prince George. I may want to move back there someday if B.C. stops standing for “bring cash”! Any other concerns?
“That is a absurd idea that people never seem to think through, it would have insane consequences at all levels of society”
Not anything close to what the legal drug alcohol has done to all levels of society.
I don’t think the gangs are financed by illegal stills or brewery’s anymore…not since governments took that revenue source away from them.
um… taxinapothole, marijuana is not legal in Amsterdam and it causes them considerable amounts of trouble that they’re currently trying to deal with.
Don’t get me wrong, I pretty much come down on the side of decriminalizing marijuana, but just wanted to set the record straight.
I think decriminalizing marijuana would have huge beneficial impacts, almost over night.
1. You could stop wasting precious police and court resource prosecuting these crimes. We’re talking about billions annually. Plow that money into rehab programs for hard drug users and take a big bite out of that trade too.
2. You’ll take a huge cash cow away from criminals. Prohibition is a recipe for fostering dangerous criminal activity and making the worst possible kind of thugs rich as well as ultra violent.

I was going to say something similar, but it gets tiring correcting taxi all the time.
Things must be pretty sweet in Calgary if taxi still has time to drop by and put his two cents in about our roads. Cool.
Face it Taxi, you miss this place, just admit it. You’re welcome back any time.
metalman.
thanks metalman, I do miss PG. I was born there in 1952! I saw gravel roads that were graded. I remember catching a rock in the fender of my bicycle on Victoria Street when I was a kid (yep, I bit it hard on the gravel)
I also remember some wooden sidewalks on 3rd Ave.I could go on for ever if you want to get me started!
Prince George was where I was born, in the old army hospital. I spent the first 6 months of my life in Upper Fraser!
Yes, I do miss you guys, but I don’t miss the miss management of the City. The roads are crap! Pulled a load in there last Friday, Ongman subdivision or what ever it is called. Disgraceful.!
And for you JohnnyBelt, you check your facs, marijuana is legal to buy in Amsterdam unless the law changed in the last week…….
Fact, fiction or frickin bullshit,,, quit beating each other up here, we have had some major poop go down here in the last 2 weeks with lakeland and now another death in Vanderhoof, lets , for a moment, think about why we live here, and how we might change things while here, instead of giving each other a verbal beatdown every 2 min. As for the pot issue..I do not agree with legalizing it. Anyone know, or remember, a pot head from school????and where are they now?
Hey Johnny, taxi is just trying to look after us.

Yes willyj. Imagine the cartels given a run for their business. Imagine all the lives that would be saved! Imagine $100,000 that tax payers pay per inmate per year going into something more useful. Imagine the police actually spending 50% more of their time dealing with thing that enhance life rather than dealing with the drug producers that suck 50% of our policing resources. Imagine if $.14 cents of every dollar of legal drug sales was put into education and treatment of drug abuse. Mmm you should take a open mind look at legal drugs.
