Missing Man Prompts Search Along BC’s Central Coast
Prince George, BC – RCMP, West Coast Marine Services, the BC Coast Guard, RCMP Air Services and Police Dog Services are involved in efforts to locate a 24-year-old man last seen in the tiny community of Klemtu on Swindle Island.
Corporal Phillip Mager with the RCMP’s Prince Rupert Detachment says Maxwell Brown Jr is a resident of the coastal community of Bella Bella, but was in Klemtu visiting friends when he was last seen at approximately 1am on Tuesday, May 1st. In order to access the community of Klemtu, visitors and residents require the use of a BC Ferry or float plane.
Corporal Mager says family and friends reported Brown Jr missing on May 3rd, when they had not heard from him. "We are hoping that Maxwell Brown Jr hears that his family is looking for him and want him to call home, " says Mager. "All the surrounding communities are working together in order to locate him and ensure his safe return."
The missing man is described as approximately 5’10" tall, weighing 161-pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. He has a tattoo that says ‘Rest in Peace’ on the left side of his neck.
