So very sorry for your loss; eventual peace and break from the sorrow to you all.

So sad, and sudden. Gravel plugging the intake reduces control of a jet boat to zero. No propulsion, no steering. The best they could have done is throw out the anchor and hope for it to catch. Chances are there was no time for that anyway. Log jams on a river are dangerous places. They scare the heck out of me. Stay clear.
Sincere condolences to the loved ones.
A big thank you to the SAR folks, and those who assisted them. You put yourselves in danger on that river to help someone in need. We should all appreciate emergency volunteers and support their efforts.

Very sad out come. Our condolances to all those affected.

I must say however, that that type of boating in these high and fast water conditions is an extremely risky activity. Two boats should always go together if they go at all. Perhaps the province is going to have to legislate a ban on this for certain periods when the risks are too high.

Please— not more regulations!

Were the victims wearing PFDs?
