Get Set to Peddle Your Unused Pedals

Thursday, May 10, 2012 @ 3:55 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Time to dust off that bicycle that’s been taking up space in the garage, or wheel out the one you feel needs an “upgrade”.
The Prince George Cycling Club’s set Saturday as the day for it’s annual Bike Swap.
This is the 4th Annual Bike Swap, aimed at connecting cyclists with unused equipment to those who need it, and to raise funds for the Club’s Urban Cycling Coalition.

Those looking to sell their bicycles and cycling-related equipment can drop off their items at the Moose Hall (663 Douglas St) the morning of the swap between 8:00am and 10:00am.

The swap meet will officially open at 11:00am until 2:00pm. It is estimated there will be  about 100 bicycles of all shapes and sizes available for sale by club volunteers.

In addition to finding great deals, swappers can also learn more about the Prince George Cycling Club’s member programs, including Sprockids, Trail Building Nights, Group Rides, Road Races, and Bike to Work Week.

“Cycling is a very popular activity in Prince George” says Club President Jillian Merick “There are unlimited opportunities to ride for transportation, sport or recreation. A community bike sale is a great way to keep unused bikes from collecting dust in the garage and to help other cyclists meet their equipment needs affordably.”
