Library, Arts Council Contribute to Lakeland Fund

Prince George, B.C. – The Lakeland Fire Assistance Fund will be receiving another donation, courtesy of the Prince George Public Library and the Prince George and District Community Arts Council.
Through revenue generated at the Prince George Regional Arts and Cultural Awards on April 27th, the two organizations are able to contribute $1000 to the fund. The check will be presented at the CNC Lakeland Mills fundraiser to be held at the college on Tuesday.
The donation is possible in large part due to the many artists who waived their performance honorariums. They include Andrew Burton and the Street Spirits Theatre, Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers, Zahirah Middle Eastern Dancers, The Old Time Fiddlers, Noordvall featuring Dawn Boudreau, Cat Sivertsen, Miss Teen PG Kristie Girard, Tess Healy, Si Transken , Rob Budde, Marilyn Iwama and the Prince George Playhouse.
The Lakeland Mills Fundraiser, featuring a barbecue and silent auction, runs from 11 am to 2 pm Tuesday in the CNC courtyard. Tickets are $10.
