Fire on West Side of Fraser River

Chopper lifts bucket of water to head back to  fire scene just north of the  operations visible in the background.

Prince George, B.C.- Fire crews are mopping up a grass fire on the west side of the Fraser River  just north of the  Canfor pulp operations on P.G. Pulpmill Road and south of Hofferkamp Road.

The fire  was first spotted  around 5:15 this evening.

Fire crews responded  with both ground attack and a helicopter  attack.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and actual acreage burned  is not yet available.
