Blog Dialogue on B.C. Policing Plan

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 @ 3:53 AM
Prince George, B.C.- As the Provincial Government moves towards developing a ten year strategic plan for policing in  B.C, it is calling on members of the public to speak up on what they would like to see as part of that policing plan.

The Ministry of Justice has set up a blog on policing in the province and will be opening that blog for a dialogue session tomorrow morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the first of what is planned to be regular dialogue sessions.

Minister of Justice Shirley Bond says  while crime in B.C. is at a 30 year low, there are new challenges for policing and community safety.  “It’s important for us to get a deeper understanding of how your community is impacted by criminal activity and what local strategies might be useful throughout the province.”

You can access the blog here, if you are interested in gathering some background information prior to tomorrow’s dialogue session.
