Canadian Troops Focus of Two Events In P.G. Tomorrow

Prince George, B.C.- There are two events set for Saturday that are both aimed at honouring and supporting Canadian soldiers.
The first event is set for Fort George Park and starts at 10 in the morning. This is the Walk of Honour, which is an effort to honour troops and their families. The walk also provides an opportunity to raise funds for Winch House, a place where veterans can get the assistance they need to make a full return to civilian life. Returning soldiers and their families can stay at Winch House in Vancouver at no charge as the returning soldier undergoes whatever treatment they may need.
The second event takes place at noon at the Veterans’ Plaza at Prince George City Hall.
There, Canada’s role in liberating Holland during World War II will be honoured with the Dutch Canadian Tulip Commemoration event.
