The young man was riding a dirt bike on the road when he collided with the pickup driven by a 19 year old male.
A collision Reconstructionist from north district has been called to the scene of the collision.
Although the investigation is just beginning, speed is a likely factor in the crash.

Tragic, the young man should not have been riding his bike on the road. What a terrible thing.
meetalman.
So sad, I feel for both families. We see kids as young as 7-8 riding dirt bikes and ATV’s at Cluculz far too often. “rural or not, the roads are not safe for kids. Please people, keep the bikes on the trails.
“Speed may have been a factor”
I suspect a key factor was inexperience on the part of both as well as lax regulations.
Which lax regulations Gus? The one that states you must be at least 16 and in a licensed vehicle to drive on a road?
Regulations would have done little to prevent a terrible accident like this from happening. The report doesn’t disclose the cause of the accident, perhaps the young man driving the truck ran a stop sign? The age of the young man on the motor bike may not have made any difference to the outcome at all?
It’s not just the country. I daily get dirt bikes & quads in my subdivision. I’ve also seen them crossing the Hart Hwy just south of Race Trac Gas. Some of them are just young kids.
The Number of ATVs and Trail bikes is increasing on our Roads and little Kids are riding them, I don’t see any good coming from this.
I live in the Hart area and every weekend it’s almost a steady stream of dirt bikes and atv’s up and down the street. In the winter it’s atv and snow machines. There is one kid on a dirt bike is just a blur driving on the road. Have phoned police and asked if I know where they live which I do not. All I’m asking for is some police presents with a drive through. Haven’t seen one all spring.
Terrible tragedy…thoughts are with the two young men involved, the one that died too young and the young man that has to come to terms with it – and their families. Heartbreaking. Sometimes bad sh*t just happens to good people, folks.
I drive a large truck. On the back roads and Domano I have had near misses with quads and bikes driven by all ages. If I get hit I will sue for everything they and thier families have. There is even the possibility one can also go after the seller and manufacturer.
I feel for the families and friends of both young men involved. The driver has to live with this for the rest of his life.
I have a 15 yr old who rides a dirt bike and I worry. It only takes one moment of inattention for ANYONE to crash.
There is no use laying blame. Make sure your kids know of this accident and maybe it will slow them down for a bit, at least.
Was he wearing an approved helmet? I just read they have a new law about that.
bearlyhere I believe your child cannot ride on any road.
Kids will ride on the road to get to their trails. Its only natural and has always happened and always will. This is a tragedy… sometimes life involves risk and sometimes that risk turns out fatal. Its a calculation one takes anytime one is involved in sport. My condolences to all involved.
