Prince George, B.c.- The Provincial Ombudsperson, Kim Carter, will be in Prince George this afternoon as part of a northern swing to talk about her recommendations for seniors’ care.
Her report The Best of Care: Getting It Right for Seniors and British Columbia made 176 recommendations, including creating a bill of rights for seniors in residential care facilities and ensuring that people have easy access to information about these facilities.
Carter will be at the Bob Harkins Branch of the Prince George Public Library this afternoon (3:30) to talk about her report.
Tomorrow, she will be in Quesnel at the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre on Carson Avenue from 9-11 a.m., and in Williams Lake in the afternoon at 2 at the Pioneer Complex at 351 Hodgson Road.

Talk? recommendations? It is to laff. She will talk. She might listen. Then she will go back to Victoria, talk to whoever will listen, and whoever she talks to will say “Sorry. We don’t have any money to set aside for your “recommendations”. She might as well wait til after the election, or panhandle the Dippers for promises. If she has a clue, she can get those “promises” in writing. They might be worth the paper they are written on if someone wants proof that politicians “speak untruths”.
