State of Local Emergency Lifted
Prince George, B.C.- The State of Local Emergency in Prince George has been rescinded and residents of Farrell Street have been allowed to return to their homes.
The Fraser River is at the 8.5 metre mark and according to the River Forecast Centre, will hold steady around that mark for the next couple of week.s
Residences on Farrell Street which were evacuated have undergone safety inspections, and all have been deemed safe for habitation.
The Evacuation Reception Centre at the Annex at City Hall has been closed, however, the Emergency Operations Centre will remain activated at level one, and the evacuation alerts issued to area residents remain in effect. The gabion dikes that were put in place on Farrell Street will remain in place for another two weeks.
