Prince George, BC – For the second time in less than a year, a Prince George organization has been awarded  “WorldHost” certification.

Grama’s Inn is the first accommodation in P.G. to be  recognized as a WorldHost Certified business..
Grama’s Inn was founded in 1971 by Henry and Esther Creuzot,   and is now managed by their son Gary.

“Grama’s Inn has a longstanding tradition of great service to the travelling public” says Tourism Prince George CEO Aiden Kelly, “This certification will further enhance the customer experience and definitely showcases Grama’s Inn as a business leader for the accommodation sector in Prince George.”

WorldHost is an essential training program in the tourism and service industry and provides employees with the tools they need to provide excellent customer service.

Late last year, the Prince George Airport   also achieved World Host certification, becoming the first airport in Canada to do so

WTF??? I suppose this is why the RCMP has had to waste there so much time there this week to babysit all the tree planters staying there.

I have to agree with billyinpg.

Good for Grama’s Inn for getting an award like this, but honestly, I’m scratching my head “showcase as a business leader for the accommodation sector”? I have driven by there many times on my way to the Wendy’s drive thru and the building is average at best. The service would be just as billyinpg said, mostly to treeplanters……

So this makes me curious, what exactly did this hotel do that every other hotel/motel in PG doesn’t? Now that would be a news story in my opinion……

OK “mwk”…

I read your post and I understand everything you’ve said and as a result I’ve come to this startling conclusion.

It’s quite possible that you may be going through Wendy’s drive-in way too much!

LOL…

Way to go Cruezot’s. A long time family, that has support Prince George. Stop bashing them.

I have eaten at the restaurant a Gramma’s many times over the years, and it is a rare day indeed that you see any tree planters, or any trouble.

In this Burg tree planters, like people who come from out of town to shop would be considered tourists, and the City assess’s them a hotel tax (tourist tax), to keep the illusion alive that tourists come to Prince George.

Palopu: ” like people who come from out of town to shop would be considered tourists, and the City assess’s them a hotel tax (tourist tax), to keep the illusion alive that tourists come to Prince George.”

Wait… what?

As for what “WorldHost Certification” is, if the Airport and Grama’s Inn can get it, anybody can get it.

Grama’s Inn is a pit for sure, but obviously you can see that when you pull in to the parking lot. Those who want a nice , comfortable room stay at the Sandman Signature, or the 4 points. Folks who want cheap, and close to crack dealers and hookers, stay at Grama’s.

Stay classy, PG.

Mr.Tourism Aiden Kelly should ask the city for a razor. Unless that is the same patch of fur he’s been trying to grow for the last 5 years.
“Stay classy,PG”….LOL

I was unsure what WorldHost was all about.

1. A rebranding of SuperHost, a BC government created training program for the hospitality industry created for Expo 87.

2. It is a copyrighted trademark.

3. WorldHost as a training program is available in BC. In any other area, and there are several thoughout the world, BC has sold the rights.

4. It is being used by the UK for the Summer Olympics.

5. A WorldHost certified business has to have 60% or more of its staff go through the training program.

6. There is no assessment of the business similar to a Michelin Guide starred hotel or restaurant.

I was on the web site and was trying to find other businesses which qualify. Even though the web site mentions the list on their web site, I cannot find one.

So, cudos to Gramas for putting its staff through the training.

Time to test them and be a beligerant customer …. :-)

He has to camouflage himself amidst the bears when raoming around the countryside with hunting tourists. (not sure whether Palopu classifies hunters as tourists unless they are from Iran) …. LOL

That unshaven, poorly dressed young man is the CEO of Tourism PG???
Is he a goodwill ambassador to hoboes?
Hard to stay classy in PG with amateur representation like that.
Good for Gramas Inn though, for the award.
metalman.
