Power Outage Affects Parts of Prince George

Saturday, June 23, 2012 @ 7:31 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Some B.C. Hydro customers in Prince George found themselves without power for a short time this morning.

Hydro’s Bob Gammer says about 4700 customers were affected by the outages which hit just before 7 this morning.   It covered an area between Central and Foothills, from 5th Avenue to Charella.   Gammer says the power loss was due to a fault in the Foothills sub-station behind the aquatic centre.

Hydro crews were mobilized to search out and rectify the problem.   All affected customers should have power restored by now.

I’m surprised they haven’t said it was repaired faster due to smart meters…. that’s what their literature and TV ads brag about ad nauseum.

Those smart meters are nothing but a boondoggle for someone’s friend. BC Hydro does not have the infrastructure in place to collect and utilize the information from the meters.

The sky is falling the sky is falling! Smart meters are here to stay, get over it.

The smart meter software for consumers won’t be available until spring 2013. So everyone is safe until then.

I checked the weather report… I don’t see any chance of the sky falling.

What I’m tired of is being spoon-fed BS from BC Hydro and them having the audacity to call it steak…. so to speak.

Spring 2013 – good to know, I will buy shares in aluminum before then. I am sure there will a run on tinfoil hats :)

LOL……Y2K

NoWay: “The sky is falling the sky is falling! Smart meters are here to stay, get over it.”

You’ve lost me here; which comments are you referring to?
