Lakeland Benefit Concert Goes at Rail Museum

Saturday, June 23, 2012 @ 12:53 PM
Prince George, B.C. – Workers at the Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum are spending the day putting the finishing touches on the set-up for tonight’s Lakeland Mills fundraiser.

Up to 10 bands from Prince George and Hixon, featuring rock and Bluegrass, are playing at the benefit concert for Lakeland Mills employees.   The concert starts at 5pm today and runs through to 11 tonight. It is being held on the grounds of the museum itself.   Tickets are $25.00. That gets you into the concert and includes a steak dinner. The tickets are available at the museum and at Northern Hardware.

With inclement weather in the area, crews spent the day erecting tent coverings as well as putting up tables and chairs. The show goes on no matter what old Ma Nature is doing.

All of the money raised at the event will go to the Lakeland Fire Assistance Fund administered by the Community Foundation. It’s the latest in the many events organized and supported by the people of Prince George to help the employees dealing with the aftermath of the April 23rd explosion that destroyed the Lakeland sawmill.
