Snadden’s Successor Named

Prince George, B.C. –There is a new person in charge of academic medicine at UNBC’s Northern Medical Program.
Dr. Paul Winwood, a gastroenterologist in Prince George, has been selected by the University of BC Faculty of Medicine to take over the post previously held by Dr. David Snadden who has been the Executive Associate Dean, Education at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine since late last fall. Dr. Geoff Payne had been filling the post on an interim basis.
In a release from UNBC, Dr. Winnwood’s new role is said to include leading “medical education and training in Northern BC, including the expansion of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education opportunities. He also will promote collaboration among faculty members and students in research and interprofessional education; foster a sense of community among students and a desire to work in northern BC; help to develop continuing education programs for practitioners in the region; and work closely with partners, such as Northern Health, to facilitate the achievement of those goals.”
Dr. Winwood takes over the post July 1st.
