Pool May Reopen By Noon Today

Thursday, June 28, 2012 @ 9:32 AM

Prince George, B.C.- The four Seasons Pool  in downtown Prince George, remains closed this morning.   It was  closed yesterday afternoon after a  chemical reaction  released noxious fumes.

The building was evacuated and 19 people were sent to hospital for treatment of minor symptoms.

While the Prince George Fire Rescue Services has wrapped up its investigation and the building has been deemed safe, there is still a strong odour which may   be of concern to the public.

City staff have been spending the morning ventilating the building to air out the odour, and  the City of Prince George hopes to reopen the pool at noon.

Those pulp mills are really sending out the stinky smell in this city today…..even is causing breathing problems for some people today. Will our mayor please do something about this. I wish I never moved here!!!!!

Well I think that’s twice now that this facility had been closed due to “fume” issues. So what’s going on? Is there not a physical plant supervisor there to keep and eye on things? Clearly we should consider closing this facility, the city seems to be having a hard time keeping it safe for the residents of the city.

More than twice, Professional, at least three according to my fuzzy recollection, but spread over a number of years. In the grand scheme of things, there have not been all that many problems there. I believe they still have a core staff of good people.
