Happy Friday everyone. Have a safe weekend. Enjoy this wonderful community and play nice.
I love PG.
Gotta love the retards who think they own the road first everyone was bitching about the sorry state of the roads now they are bitching because the pavers and other road crews are inconveniencing them and I know of 5 drivers who have stopped and screamed at the flag people for inconveniencing them. Seriously why are they yelling at someone for doing their job IMO those drivers should be forced to go through anger management and driver retraining.
I was downtown yesterday in the afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was on third Ave. The trees and baskets were gorgeous! It seemed like such a nice place to be….I know it has its bad areas but I felt for the most part it looked awesome…
Is Christy Clark’s stance on the pipeline really a red herring. Trading money for approval. The intent of her stance could be to keep peoples mind off the real issue of the enviromental hazards that are the real issue.
Secondly being tough on pipeline approval enhances the Liberals very slim chances of re-election next spring.
I think Premier Clark’s stand on the Enbridge pipeline is a noble one. She may be playing politics with it, but that’s the nature of the business in the world of politics.
I guess sneaking off to Alberta hoping no one would notice was noble as well!? Christy Clark Campbell is no better than her former disgraced leader.
It may be nice downtown but what is with the raw-sewage smell down there??
This city stinks – literally.
The smell downtown yesterday was obnoxious.
Is this coming from the refinery by the pulp mills? If so they need to put in place similar filters to those installed on the mills.
I can honestly say the smell from the pulp mills is nowhere near as bad as it used to be, but this rotten egg smell needs to be investigated and cleaned up.

Dearth, well said!
Seems you put some people who haven’t given themselves time to get where they’re
going, into a crisis event (for them) and its everyone else’s fault. Just shows that the mentality of some people should be checked before they get a licence.
Retards? … strange word.
Use it in a sentence.
“Gotta love the retards who double post.”
;-)
Last Friday in July it is.
I suppose July 2012 might go down as one of the nicest summer weather Julys we have had for some time. This is the way I remember Julys in PG before the dreaded turn of the millennium got us.
Environment Canada had predicted cooler weather a week or more ago and it never came. They are still predicting it for the next two weeks. Hope they keep on being wrong.
Is there any way to find out how much in salaries is being paid to the 2015 Winter GAmes? Shouldn’t these salaries be public? Aren’t they funded by tax dollars?
I hear it’s open season on a certain former dog owner in Vancouver. He ran away from the tv cameras on last nights news, like the true coward he is.I can beat a poor helpless dog to death, but I’m terrified of a few humans with cameras.Piece of crap if I ever seen one.
I know Gus blame it on the refresh button for my browser :)
A petition has been created, in honour and memory of Captain, the German Shepherd who was tortured and left for dead in a dumpster in Vancouver. The petition is to lobby our government (British Columbia and federal) to construct and enforce appropriate animal cruelty laws. If you would like to sign, please do so at the link below. I think adding comments would be beneficial. Please share â the more signatures we get the more likely we will be able to effect change. I would like to send the petition to Premier Christy Clark and Prime Minister Stephen Harper within a month. Thanks.

Not sticking up for the drivers screaming at flag people, but many of the flag people I’ve observed of late need to first learn the rules of the road and the rules of their jobs prior to becoming traffic control personnel. Many of them haven’t a clue. Lack of knowledge surrounding your job many times breeds anger in those you have control over.
It has been a lovely month Gus and you said it all in a few words. Good stuff.
And Dont forget to give the Core Review your opinions. This is the place to stir the poop. I have problems with giving you the website .Maybe someone else will do the honour. But go to the City website and click on Core Review Survey and your there. Have fun
What really bugs me is our city plan, Its going to bankrupt the City if we dont start to control the spending. The City owns all this prperty down town but the business sectore is all over the map.
A another new subdivision at the end of Malaspina Drive Creekside place. And thats exactly what it is by a creek all by itself and the city will have to service this project. Mabe it means more tax dollars but at what cost?
My towell is getting oall wet from tears so I better sign off
Cheers

Just to give people a bit of a comparison from the point of view of attracting people in the health field to work here.

With respect to the Canada Winter Games, best I could find is this article on the “controversy” around the Pan Am Games in Toronto in 2015 ….
That creek you speak of Retired is toxic and posted as such.
Made 30th anniversary reservations at a local recently renovated restaurant next to city hall with specific instructions for a nice quiet out of the way table.
Got a table beside the kitchen next to the stairs on a very busy walkway for staff and patron’s.
Had staff and patron’s standing over top of our table waiting their turn to access the stairs, had our entree’s dropped on our table before our starters were half eaten, was told by the server that she could place our $55.00 meals under a heat lamp if we preferred.
As the server placed our plates on the table she said “be very careful this plate is extremely hot”. My wife’s plate was placed in front of her where it tipped off the edge of the table and almost ended up in her lap, if it weren’t for her own quick action she could have been severely burned.
Two more customers your establishment will never see again.
“Two more customers your establishment will never see again. “
Considering how busy that restaurant is, they won’t miss you. I also recently ate there and found the food was great but the service a little slow. I cut them some slack because they were still pretty new. If I wanted a quiet dining experience, I would not have picked that restaurant. Just my two bits.
I agree with Johnny, it’s one of the better places to eat in PG but definitely not quiet or romantic. Reminds me of a friend who took his (ex)girlfriend to Red Robin for her birthday… doh!
Just came back last sunday from a weekend in Vancouver. We had a Wonderful time, spent lots and enjoyed the cooler weather. We decided to setout for home a little later after a last shopping spree. I must say, BC hiways are in good shape, but fail to have any lines painted on them. We rode the left lane in passing lanes just to get a bit of guidance from the touch of yellow paint on the center line. We saw many ppl doing this. It is already mid-summer and hopefully they get the lines painted.
That restaurant has a quiet private room for dinner, six of us had lots of room so it could hold a larger party.
Guardian Angels? Have you noticed the driving some of their trucks do? Wonder where the police are when they move around this town sometimes.
myusername61: “to construct and enforce appropriate animal cruelty laws.” Some of their ‘laws’ are completely out to lunch. some of their enforcement officers are too.
I do believe animals should be properly cared for and the penalties levied against animal abusers are often more severe than penalties levied against people who treat their fellow human beings in like manner. Something is wrong here. Animals are not more sacred than humans but some people would want it this way. I think also that their enforcement officers need more training in how they treat people when they are the subject of complaints.
Other than that, I hope everyone can have an enjoyable and safe weekend.
I am aware of at least four toddlers from the prince george region that recently have contracted a serious ilness similar to the west nile virus and two were air lifted to vancouver and have symptoms such as siezures & convulsions, is the media doing it’s job alerting parents of this and what to be taking precautions for once the sickness is identified ????
Who chased the kids off the lawn and grumbled about where the logging trucks are parked when dragon went out for supper?
All this talk about a certain restaurant is making me wanna go there for after work cocktails!
LMAO lonesome sparrow, I just choked. Congrats on 30 years dragon
Have a great weekend everyone
Just finished reading about our $44 thousand dollar toy unveiled at city hall. Then my mind jumped all the way over to Snowdrop Park up he Hart which needs some landscaping something terrible. My thought would be to get a message by word of mouth, by Facebook or Twitter and get a “gang” of amateur gardeners to “occupy” the park. We would need bout three or four riding lawnmowers and operators, seven or eight weedwhackers, many rakes and a few pickup trucks to tote the grass clippings to the nearest transfer station. Don’t keep it such a secret that city hall won’t know. Maybe Scari can conjure up the Royal Tax Collecting and Tazering Force to arrest a few . Might make the national news. Don’t forget our hard hats.
Harbinger…..Snowdrop Park ? Has the snow melted up there ? I”ve been taking a detour since February, waiting for the S.Ospika hill to get paved. Wait your turn…..LOL.

I thought that hill had a “bumpy road” sign on it. What more do you expect?
The largesse of paving that we have seen recently has to stop sometime or else we won’t have enough money to fund Council meetings anymore for the rest of the year.

What’s with the local TV station? There was a serious accident that closed the highwy near Chetwynd for most of a day; I never heard Boo about it on the news; the only place with info was 250. And of course Global Vancouver never knew Boo either.
Just filled up in Hinton. 112.5/litre
How’s that lakeland trust fund coming along ?Would really love some assistance before I lose my house.I was under the impression it was going to be there to assist , not sit caught up in red tape. I imagine all those who have contributed to the fund would like to see it used how it was meant to be.
Lonesome sparrow, you wanna kiss my what?
Thanks interceptor.
Good website to follow the upcoming crash in the lower mainland’s real estate market.

Yes we sure do lakelandorphan. We want it to go to the injured for any extra expenses that aren’t covered by compensation. Other than that give the rest to charity.
givememore: You said what eveyone else is afraid to say about animal cruelty (except me). I think the whole animal thing is verging on insanity rather than a bit lopsided. People who have dogs in the city should be on a leash – not the dog.
