Hwy 97 North Re-Opens Following Fatal MVA

Prince George, BC – Traffic is once again moving on Highway 97 North near the community of Chetwynd, after a fatal two-vehicle collision closed the route early this afternoon.
The route re-opened at 8pm this evening, after RCMP wrapped up their investigation at the scene of the crash approximately two-kilometres south of Chetwynd.
There are still no further details available on the crash. The driver and lone occupant of one vehicle was killed. There were four people in the other vehicle involved, two received just minor injuries.
The crash closed the route to all traffic and there was no detour, forcing motorists to wait out the eight-hour closure.
