Prince George B.C.- Earlier this week, Prince George MLAs Shirley Bond and Pat Bell delivered a cheque to the Prince George Exhibition, making the Province’s total contribution this year $100 thousand dollars.   That’s a thousand dollars for each year the PGX has existed.
Today, another special delivery as Bond and Bell delivered the Century Farm Award to the Chair of the Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association.

Century Farm Awards honour agricultural organizations that have been active for a century or longer as well as pioneers whose farms and ranches have been in families for 100 years or more. Each Century Farm Award celebrates the rich heritage of farming and ranching families and organizations in B.C.

"This award pays tribute to the countless volunteers that have collectively contributed to the overall longevity of this organization” says Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association president Nancy Loreth “We are so appreciative to receive this recognition."

The 100th edition of the Prince George Exhibition starts next Wednesday afternoon when the gates open at 3 p.m.

Whew, thanks for saving the PGX

Have a good time gooing & gahing over a jar of canned peaches while your kids & grandkids are on the midway dropping acid.

Yeehaw!!

Once again many thanks to MLAs Shirley Bond and Pat Bell, you see the value of the Exhibition, unfortunately our current Mayor and Council do not. I can still remember back to the mid and late sixties that the Prince George Exhibition was a real treat to escape the one horse town mentality.

Was this a gift in recognition of PGX’s valuable contribution to community after 100yrs, or was it a planned & timed photo op presentation of a Direct Access Gaming Grant.

Congrats to this worthy and outstanding organization that pulls it off every year and has lasted, as a true grass roots and non profit organization in every sense of the word, for a century. going to the PGX…!
