Chamber Gearing Up For 2nd Annual Street Trade Show

Tuesday, August 7, 2012 @ 3:54 AM

Prince George, BC – As part of its centennial celebrations last summer, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce held a street trade show that drew a crowd to the Vancouver Street event, so plans for ‘year two’ are underway…

CEO, Jennifer Brandle-McCall, says, "We offered the event last year not really knowing where it would go, but we had a resounding success and the members that took part loved it."

The trade show spanned the block in front of the Chamber office on Vancouver Street for four-hours, including the noon-hour, giving chamber members a chance to showcase their goods and services.  "The Yellowhead Rotary Club came with their big smoker barbeque and were ready to feed between 100 and 150 people, and they sold out of food – so it was a really, really good reception."

With the majority of the chamber’s membership made up of businesses employing five or less, Brandle-McCall says, "It gave them a chance to come out in a very affordable way, to rent a table and be outside in a space that was inviting to individuals across the downtown."

This year’s mid-day show is set for 10am until 2pm August 29th and Brandle-McCall says, "As long as the weather holds out and cooperates with us, I’m hoping for an even better success than last year."

Tables are for members only (click here to register online), but everyone is invited to stroll through the trade show.
