Wednesday, August 8, 2012 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, B.C.- The 100th Celebration Flags are flying and the admission gates are ready, as just a few hours from now, the 100th Edition of the Prince George exhibition will officially get underway.
Gates open at 3:00 this afternoon.
This centennial celebration kicks off with the band 54-40 performing at the Silver Stetson show area. That is the big white tent that has been set up to offset the loss of the Kin1 arena which is being upgraded for the 2015 Canada Winter Games. The 54-40 show is set to start at 9:00 tonight and admission is included with the price of getting through the gates.
The admission prices this year are as follows:
· General (13-59) $15.00
· Seniors (60+) $10.00
· Youth (4-12) $10.00
· Kids ( 3 years and under) Free
This is the last year the PGX will be officially marketed as the PGX. Next year, it will broaden its scope and become the BC Northern Exhibition, reflecting the fact it is the largest fair in the region, and involves participants from far beyond the Prince George area.
Watch for a special PGX historical display , a new mural to be unveiled as a legacy, fireworks on Friday night and a special tractor parade on Sunday as just a few of the highlights.
The entertainment line up is very impressive with 54-40 tonight, the Stampeders tomorrow night, then BC-DC ( AC-DC tribute band) on Friday, the Powder Blues Band on Saturday.
250 will post a list of highlights on each day of the PGX .
