Police Nab Prolific Offender
Friday, August 10, 2012 @ 3:15 PM
Prince George- a 32 year old Prince George man is back in custody after a police chase near the central area of the city yesterday.
Dale Al West was seen by a plain clothes member yesterday near 8th and Burden. The officer was looking for West for a breach of Condition order.
He fled the scene on his bike but soon abandoned the bike and took off on foot. Police tracking dog “Azar “was called in and he took up the chase near 5th and Carney.
Crime reduction members picked up West as the dog was tracking him about 20 minutes later. Police say West resisted arrest and upon examining his pack he was found to be in possession of break in instruments and stolen property.
He appeared in court today charged with failing to comply with Recognizance, failing to comply of a probation order, and two counts of resisting arrest.

It must be frustrating for the police to have to find and catch these guys over and over again.
It’s those darned catch and release provisions of the criminal code, guaranteed to keep lawyers and judges working for life!
He isn’t even smart enough to get rid of the backpack .
Putting these guys in jail is the only solution to the problem, however if the prolific offenders go to jail, then the crime stats come down, and people start looking for a reduction in the police force.
Whats the solution?? Seems we are allowing the crooks to basically do what the hell they like with little or no consequence.
This leaves us all at risk, because they become braver and braver, and we are now into daylight break and enters.
Seems the motto **If you do the crime, you do the time** has been changed to ** If you do the crime, you dont do any time**
You wouldn’t believe the stories these guys tell the judge to get out on bail or get a shorter sentence. “I’ve finally found Jesus”,Just got a job, my baby’s due, I’ll never do it again, I’m having surgery next week, frontal lobotomy.
Strange, but it seems the more they appear in front of a judge the easier it is to get released. Ah well, just a game, eh?
“guaranteed to keep lawyers and judges working for life!”
Ayup! Designed that way by govt to do just that.
“Putting these guys in jail is the only solution to the problem, however if the prolific offenders go to jail, then the crime stats come down, and people start looking for a reduction in the police force.”
Yes, and the last thing govt wants is less force available to them.
“Seems we are allowing the crooks to basically do what the hell they like with little or no consequence”
If the victims take care of these friends of govt, (oops! I mean crooks) they get charged and tossed in jail.
Our govt is who is leaving us all at risk because they allow these people to walk our streets.
32 years old fleeing police on his “bike”. I presume it was a bicycle. Speaks volumes, it does. Bicycle being well looked after while he is in jail for a couple of hours before the inconvenient episode in front a judge proffering a “promise to appear” notice? Wouldn’t want a lawsuit over a missing “bike”, would we?
He wouldn’t care Harb, he will steal another one within an hour of release.
What about his helmet. Was he wearing one?? He should be fined if he wasnt. Big fine maximum $29.00.
Just go onto scan bc/prince george, man the cops have to deal with some nasty shit and some nasty ppl in this town…..same names but the rate of domestic violence is incredible.
“Prolific offender”
Should not get that far.
Three convictions should be enough of a signal (hell, a raging bonfire of a signal) to the justice system that this person needs to be put away. Why let them continue to adversely affect the lives of the people who contribute to society?
How do the costs of incarceration compare to the costs of processing a prolific offender again and again, plus the cost to his victims? These scumbags just laugh at straight society.
metalman.
I’ve said for years, that they should be sent to a very isolated island in the Arctic, supply them a bit when we can and let them have their own society up there. If they can’t live in our society properly then they should be removed to set up their own.
