Logging Truck Dumps Load in Ruby Lake

Monday, August 13, 2012 @ 1:54 PM
Prince George, B.C. – The Ministry of the Environment has been advised of a logging truck roll over that could have a negative impact on Ruby Lake, north of Prince George.

RCMP received a call about the roll over during the lunch hour today and have an officer on scene.

The truck lost its load of logs into the lake, and there are concerns oil and diesel fuel could be leaking into the lake as well.

The cause of the roll over is not yet known, nor is the condition of the driver.

We are waiting for word  that the MoE  has arrived on scene. ( at right,  undercarrieage of logging truck – photo submitted)
Further details will be forthcoming.

i think the bigger concern is how is the driver.

Looks like a Lobar Log Transport truck, makes a guy wonder what happened. They are usually a pretty safe company. Doesnt look like a steering tire blow out, appears to be air in the tires from the picture.

I guess we will have to await Gus’s report on the situation.

i drive this road and corner daily. this is about the 10th accident on these s corners. almost had a head on with a logging truck from same company a month ago. They go way to fast and cross the yellow line when they cant make corner. At least truck is in lake and not on someones hood. Iam glad no one is hurt. SLOW DOWN TRUCKS

Talk to the mills and talk to the owner, Greg Jacobs.

Whats really interesting is you can see them lined up at the Husky cardlock on the Hart with loads on as well as parked in the lot of the old Pumphouse Pub. Why? Because they are ahead of their turn around time and need to kill a few minutes.
