School Registration Dates Approach

Prince George, B.C. – Not trying to mess up your summer holidays, kids, but the new school year in District 57 starts in just 18 days.
Now, 250 News will be printing these instructions again a little closer to the registration days in question but we wanted to give you a heads up about this information on the school district web site.
Students new to School District No. 57, including those students who have moved to a different attendance area within the district, are asked to register at their new schools on the following dates:
ELEMENTARY
ï· Tuesday, August 28, 2012, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Please bring:
§ Proof of address
§ Copy of the child’s birth certificate as proof of age and name.
§ Most recent report card from previous school.
SECONDARY
ï· Between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on dates noted below:
§ College Heights Aug 27, 28
§ Duchess Park Aug 30, 31
§ Kelly Road Aug 28, 29
§ Prince George Aug 28, 29, 30
§ DP Todd Aug 29, 30
Please bring:
§ Proof of address
§ Child’s birth certificate as proof of age and name.
§ Most recent report card from previous school.
§ Students having successfully completed Summer School should inform their school to ensure enrolment in the correct courses.
*** Students transferring from elementary school to secondary school in the same attendance area need not register***
In Mackenzie:
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS should register on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS should register between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. as follows:
Mackenzie Secondary August 29, 30
When registering in a secondary school, please provide a copy of birth certificate and a copy of the most recent report card.
And in the Robson Valley:
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS should register on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS should register between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. as follows:
McBride Secondary August 28, 29, 30, 31
Valemount Secondary August 30
When registering in a secondary school, please provide a copy of birth certificate and a copy of the most recent report card.
Dismissal times will vary according to the school on the first day of classes September 5th. School busses will be transporting children home from school following dismissal.

I remember the days when we used to get some figures from the school district of how many were expected to register. Those numberes where then followed up by about the end of September with the actual number registered.
Of course, in those days they went up every year and we found out how many were overcrowded, got new portables, etc.
A they say, times change. I suppose in Surrey it still works that way.
They have this web site which deals with changing numbers. SD57’s site does not appear to.
