Carp Lake – A special USA diving team has recovered the body of a 59 year old man who had been after he jumped from his boat to recover his hat on Carp Lake.
Mackenzie RCMP, Search and Rescue and the RCMP Dive Team were unsuccessful in their earlier search for a 59 year old male who had been missing since Sunday August 5th, 2012 after he jumped off his boat to retrieve his hat and disappeared in the lake.
The family of the missing man hired a private agency that specializes in underwater recovery. The team from Idaho USA had advanced side sonar equipment and located the deceased.
The BC Coroners Service was able to confirm the identity of the deceased and have taken over the investigation.

Tragic story . If there is anything positive her it is that at least his family can have some closure .
Glad someone with working equipment and skill were able to find the poor guy. Didn’t the RCMP give it a go over a 4 day period?
This was not a US diving team but a older couple who travels around North America with their boat and equipment to help families find their loved ones.
Amazing people!
Dragonmaster – yes RCMP did spend a great deal of time trying to fix the equipment BC gov provides for searches and look, I guess. They should learn a few things from this couple!
