Clinton, B.C. – The wildfire burning about 40 kms west of Clinton is now  20% contained and is said to be about  420 hectares in size.

Last evening, residents in the area were advised they  could return to their homes,  but an evacuation alert remains in place should the  situation change.

The fire is being attacked by  120 firefighters , and 6 helicopters.  A specialized type two incident management team is on scene.  Multiple pieces of heavy equipment will continue to build fuel-free areas around the fire. The four helicopters  are being used to deliver water bucketing support to slow the fire’s spread.

The fire has consumed two structures,  although officials have not  been specific on  the nature of those structures.

The casue of the fire  is still under investigation.
