Host PG Axemen Have Bye To Semi-Finals At National Championships

Prince George, BC – The ‘stars’ aligned for the Prince George Axemen at the 2012 Canada Senior Men’s Baseball Championships this afternoon, as the Windsor Stars thumped the Fort Saskatchewan A’s 15-5 at Rotary Field…
It was the A’s first loss of the tournament and meant the host Axeman finished in first place in Pool A, followed by the defending champion Stars in 2nd, Fort Saskatchewan in 3rd, and Nova Scotia in 4th.
Their position atop the standings secures the host team a bye into tomorrow morning’s semi-final at 9am at Citizen Field. Fort Saskatchewan will be fighting for the right to face the Axemen again, as the team is playing BC at Citizen Field this hour.
Windsor plays Manitoba at 7pm for the right to face Chatham, New Brunswick in tomorrow’s other semi. Chatham finished in first in Pool B, followed by Victoria in 2nd, and the Reston Rockets in third.
