Baseball Volunteers Did A Hell of a Job

Time to take off your hats and give a big salute to the people who put on yet another successful baseball venture in this city.
Not only did our team, the Prince George Axemen, do us proud by winning Canada’s Senior Baseball championship, they once again have the city on a Canada wide stage.
The Axemen did the job with a 9-5 win over the reigning champions, the Windsor Stars before a screaming crowd Sunday night.
The biggest win however over the previous days was the kind of friendship shown by the committee and the people in the city.
The teams, to a person, say that Prince George is one of the best cities that they have ever attended for a tournament like this.
That says it all, and so today we of the city would like to thank the committee who put it all together, again thank you;
Jim Swanson,Lori Swanson, Lance Brommeland ,Jeanette Lapre, Cora Denman,Todd Schwab,Phil Ramage ,Bev Ramage, Shawn Rice, Lisa Rice, Frank Peebles,Bill Perrin, Edna Stitt, Duane Dagg, Bill Bornholdt, Jack Hinsche, Laine Thomsen, Sue Thomsen,Laurie Fillion,Alistair

Good positive stuff! Thank you all
I agree with Ben on this one.
We should also take note that there are a number of tournaments put on each year by the various Golf Clubs;
ie: Aberdeen Glen, Pr Geo Golf and Country Club, Aspen Grove. These tournaments probably 6 or more per year bring in people from all over the Interior.
The latest two (this week-end) were the **Divorce Open** at Aberdeen Glen, and the Seniors Open at Aspen Grove. 98 Golfers participated in the Aspen Seniors.
These events rely on volunteer labour, they would not happen without it.
Thanks to you all.
