Prince George, B.C.- Students enrolled in private schools in Prince George returned to the classroom yesterday, but today it’s School District 57’s turn.
While the day is expected to be short, more than 14 thousand students enrolled in School District 57 will be heading back to class today.
SD 57 has 31 elementary schools and 8 secondary schools in a district that covers 52 thousand square kilometers.
RCMP are reminding drivers to ensure they get back on track with their reduced speeds in school zones ( 30km per hour) and that they do not pass a school bus which has it’s lights flashing.
Also, police remind drivers that those heading back to school may be excited about reuniting with friends, may be wearing headsets, and could be texting as they walk near , or cross roadways. In other words, they may not be paying attention to their surroundings.
Police are calling on drivers to be extra cautious.
