Animal Supporters Make Tracks To Cottonwood Today

Sunday, September 9, 2012 @ 3:50 AM

Prince George, BC – The BC SPCA’s major fundraiser of the year goes across the province today, with annual ‘Paws for a Cause’ walks being held in 34 communities…

The event at Cottonwood Island Park in Prince George today has been expanded to make the fundraiser more of a day-long event (click here for previous story).  In addition to the walk, there will be information booths, canine tracking demonstrations, a bbq and crafts for the kids. Registration begins at 10am this morning, with the walk set to begin shortly after 11am.  The North Cariboo branch’s goal was to raise $30-thousand dollars this year and it appears the society will need a lot of last-minute donations to reach that goal – as of yesterday, the dog bone barometer on the SPCA’s website was just under one-third of the way there.

As was the case at the end of August, the top participant to date is Sheri Grantham with $2120 raised, the top team is the Rolling Bones with a commitment of $1355.

Cheers

One of these days the City may even clean up after the regular spring floods.
