Wednesday, September 19, 2012 @ 9:14 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The clock is ticking towards the CIBC Run for the Cure.

The event kicks off at 9:30 on Sunday September 30th, but needs volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly.

“We are looking for a variety of volunteers to come out and support us on Run day at Prince George Civic Centre,” said Renee McCloskey, Co-Run Director of the CIBC Run for the Cure.. “From setup volunteers to route marshalls…these are just some of the roles we are looking to fill to make sure it’s a successful event for the community.”

More than 50 volunteers are required to support the event.

The run for the Cure is the largest single-day, national event in Canada in support of breast cancer. Last year, more than 560 walkers and runners took part in the 1km or 5km event helping raise over $135,000 in Prince George.

You can find out more about the opportunities to volunteer by visiting the  Prince George Volunteer Page or by sending an email to Vol_princegeorge@cbcfrun.org.
