RCMP Seek Witnesses After Stabbing At House Party
Prince George, BC – Prince George RCMP say a young person was taken to hospital after be stabbed at a large house party in the city last night.
Police say the youth is believed to have been stabbed with a broken beer bottle. Officers were called to a home in the 27-hundred block of Moyie Street at approximately 11pm last night. The victim was located and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Media Liaison Officer, Corporal Craig Douglass, says a youth suspect was arrested a short time later and has since been released to a guardian for court at a later date. Corporal Douglass says police are not willing to release whether the youth involved were male or female and no further information will be provided due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
However, Douglass says because the stabbing occurred during what was a large house party, police believe there are witnesses they have not yet spoken with and they’re asking anyone who saw the incident, or may have information about the offence, to contact the Prince George Detachment at 250-561-3300 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477, or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637), using the keyword ‘pgtips’.
