Prince George,B.C. – A 34 year old man is facing at least one charge following an investigation into a home invasion in late August.

During the early morning of August 24th, 2012, the Prince George RCMP received a report of Home Invasion Robbery at a residence in Prince George .  When officers arrived at the South Ogilvie Street residence, they found a shaken, but otherwise  uninjured 62 year old female.

According to police,  two males had entered the residence through a window,  woke the victim and violently confined her for approximately 10 minutes.   A large screen TV and large gun safe containing three hand guns were taken from the residence. The hand guns are described as:

  • Glock 9 mm ( in photo at right- photo courtesy RCMP)
  • Springfield 45 Calibre
  • Springfield 9 mm
The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, which was recovered about  a week  and a half later on Faulkner Crescent.

On September 20th, 2012, investigators from the Prince George RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team located and arrested a suspect in connection to this crime. Team members were able to gather enough evidence to support a search warrant at a residence in Prince George.

During the evening of September 20th,  investigators from the Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant on a residence on the 4200 block of Quentin Avenue in the City. During that search, the stolen Glock 9 mm handgun was located .

The following charge has been approved against 34 year old Prince George resident Dohn William Warren Schmidt:

  • Break & Enter
He is being held in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for October 3rd, 2012.

The investigation continues.

Great work guys! Hopefully now the other guns and things can be located and the other suspect found as well. Somehow we really don’t need these types of people walking our streets. Why don’t they go to China or some other society to practise their craft? Better yet, why don’t we contract their sentencing requirements to China, possibly under their penalties too?

China might not agree with you.

They might want to export all their criminal element to Prince George. That would increase our population by about 2 Million.

That’s what I call good police work. Thanks.

I hope they end up charging him with a lot more than Break and Enter, but this is a start.
