Cougars Deliver Charity Golf Tournament Dollars

Prince George, B.C.-  The Prince George Cougars have  delivered the proceeds from the first  Cougars Alumni/Hospital Pro-Am  Golf Tournament.

The event raised $25,156.30 for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

Prior to Friday’s home opener victory against the Seattle Thunderbirds, Prince George Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky along with Cougars alumni member Tyler Brough presented Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation Board President, Darren Masse with the cheque at center-ice.
 
“We are thrilled with the final numbers for our first year. We will do our best to top those figures next summer and I’m confident that with the support we have seen we can make that happen,” said Prince George Cougars Vice President, Brandi Brodsky. “I would sincerely like to thank our sponsors, participants and volunteers for making this an event we can all be proud to host.”
 
175 golfers participated in the inaugural event which was held at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club on Thursday, August 16th and Friday, August 17th. 100 local businesses provided sponsorship for the event. Gold sponsors for the Prince George Cougars Alumni/Hospital Pro-Am Golf Tournament included: Telus, Remax and Scotiabank.
 
Vancouver Canucks defenceman Dan Hamhuis headlined the list of Cougars alumni who participated in the two-day event. Other Cougars alumni included: Eric Hunter, Nick Drazenovic, Ty Wishart and Ronald Petrovicky.
