Langley, B.C. — The Cariboo Cougars remain undefeated with a perfect 3-0 record after a 5-4 win over the Valley West Hawks Saturday night in Langley.
The Cats fell behind early and failed to convert on a lengthy 5-on-3 power play but still managed to score a pair of power play goals handing the Hawks their first loss of the BCMML regular season.
Three of the Cougar goals came from the blueline including Scott Cullen’s first major midget league tally. Kenny Nordstrom and Stephen Penner also contributed from the back end while Logan Styler scored on a breakaway off a beautiful feed from Tyler Povelofskie. Braiden Epp scored his second of the season in the third period which stood up as the game winner.
Nathan Warren got his second win of the season in net as the Cats outshot the Hawks 40-21.
The undefeated Cougars go for the series sweep this morning at 10:30 at the George Preston Rec Centre.
