Penticton, B.C.- The Prince George Spruce Kings lost to the Penticton Vees 4-3 tonight, in a comeback game.
The Spruce Kings were the first to make it on to the scoreboard, with Liam Board scoring just 3:43 into the first period. But the Vees would even it up at the 7:20 mark .
The Vees then notched two more goals in the second period ( one on the power play) while the Spruce Kings were held back from scoring.
The third period saw Penticton awarded a penalty shot at the 12:12 mark. The resulting goal from that shot would make the difference as despite a comeback that saw Chad Staley score for the Spruce Kings at 17:19 of the third, and Lyndon Martell score just 30 seconds later, the Kings were not able to tie it up and force the match into overtime. They outshot the Vees 15-3 in the third period, but the Vees held on for the win.
