Terrace RCMP Looking for Person Responsible for Bomb Threat Hoax
Terrace B.C.- The bomb threat at Northwestern College in Terrace yesterday, was a hoax, and now the investigation has turned to locating the person who made the call suggesting there was a bomb.
The threat caused the evacuation of the Northwestern Community College and the surrounding buildings on the campus.
After a 5 hour search of over a dozen buildings, Terrace RCMP deemed the College campus safe and the College was turned back over to management and students by 8:30 pm.
"The investigation is still underway as we are attempting to identify the suspect responsible for this criminal offence"
stated Inspector Dana Hart of the Terrace Detachment " We take all threats of this nature very seriously and the time and energy required by emergency resources in responding to this type of incident, impact their ability to respond to other operational demands
."
Police say Terrace RCMP responded to a number of high priority calls throughout the day which proved to be challenging for the members and partnering agencies whose resources were being utilized at the Bomb Hoax.
