Monday, October 15, 2012 @ 1:35 PM
Prince George, B.C. – Big Bird lands in Prince George tomorrow. The world’s third largest operating cargo aircraft, the Antonov-124, is expected to touch down at 4:30pm  Tuesday at the Prince George airport.
The aircraft came to the city back in July to pick up 7 helicopters. The contract is now over and the helicopters are returning.
The plane is originating in Africa and will refuel in the Azores before making its way here.

Where is a good place to park and watch it landing?

There is a ball field to the east of the runway that’s off the road. Or you could pay $1 and park at the airport & watch from their. Myself, I think I will go to the ball diamond there.

Airplane lands in PG? Too bad our mayor doesn’t form an official welcoming committee with one of them real good brass bands with uniforms. The whole townsfolk might show up. Hot dogs, soda pop and balloons for the kiddies. How about it, Sherri? Could even make the front page in this broke ‘burg.

We gave them the Royal Welcome when they first landed.
